My Name is Eleanor…... and I have a shoe addiction!

One of my earliest memories involves a pair of light up trainers. I loved them so much I slept with them beside my pillow for weeks – That was just the beginning, from there on my love affair with shoes only became stronger and more consuming.  

​

I have always been a highly creative person and knew I wanted a career that supported my passion for art. When I was offered a place at De Montfort university in Leicester, it seemed only right that the course I chose to study would be Footwear design, combining my love of Shoes, Art, Textiles, Sculpture and Fashion all in to one amazing course and an exciting future career.

​

During my degree in footwear design I was given the opportunity to showcase my design skills and compete against other footwear designers, in several project-based competitions, winning 3 awards, including the Moda international award. These wins gave me a great start to my design career and helped establish my name within the footwear industry.

​

In my career I have been honoured to work alongside a wonderful variety of established footwear brands, retailers, suppliers and manufacturers from all around the world, giving me extensive knowledge of the industry from concept to production.

​

My experience has allowed me to explore and develop a diverse and in-depth understanding across several product areas including performance footwear, lifestyle, and outdoor, across all genders, ages and price points.

​

Working with several excellent manufacturing teams has given me valuable involvement across a range of production techniques, including cemented shoes, injection moulding and vulcanised styles. This experience ensures that I can develop designs suitable for successful manufacture and retail.

​

I have a real passion for innovation and enjoy researching and learning about how the footwear industry is developing for the better. With a personal passion for sustainability, I am delighted to see the industry evolving to find more sustainable solutions for upper and outsole compositions along with manufacturing processes.

As a freelance shoe designer I love the variety of projects I receive, there is no job too big or too small. I offer a bespoke service, tailoring each design package to the client’s needs. I like to work closely and collaboratively alongside you to ensure that all the project requirements are met and all expectations exceeded.

I can assist with all elements of footwear design, including but not limited to: trend and creative direction, concept creation, design and product development, factory sourcing advice, branding, and creating technical documents for manufacturers.
